This is an aftermarket accessory, not a kit of the machine. The package holds resin wheel castings that replace the plastic wheels of the base model. The tires are in the sagged version, that is with deformation where they meet the ground. On a working machine that has an added logic: the HMEE-1 is heavy, the center of gravity shifts according to the work of the arm, and a flattened tire expresses that legibly on a model.
The HMEE-1 is an American high mobility engineer machine, that is a wheeled backhoe loader intended for army engineer work. It combines a loading bucket at the front with a boom and an excavator at the rear and differs from construction hardware mainly in the emphasis on transportability and on the ability to move quickly along roads with a convoy. Large-diameter off-road wheels are among its most prominent features.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off and level the mating surface. Glue with super glue, not with plastic cement. Apply a primer, or the paint will not hold on the smooth resin. On engineer hardware it pays not to spare the weathering: mud effects in the tread, dust on the sidewalls and worn places on the edges of the rims turn the machine into a working tool rather than a display piece. Never paint the rubber in full black; a dark gray base looks more natural in scale.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit of the machine. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
