The item on offer is not a model of the vehicle but replacement road wheels intended to be swapped for the parts from the plastic kit of the armored personnel carrier M113. In the name stands the designation Steel, that is the steel execution of the wheel, of the kind that turned up on vehicles of the M113 family alongside the more widespread type with a rubber tire band. The set is carried in the range of the DEF Model brand and is prepared for a particular kit whose name is given directly in the name of the item. The target kits are Academy and Tamiya.
The M113 is an American tracked personnel carrier with a hull of light alloy, introduced at the beginning of the 1960s and exported to dozens of armies. The low angular silhouette means that the running gear forms a substantial part of what is visible on a finished model, and an inaccuracy in the wheels catches the eye sooner than many another thing. Steel wheels differ from the standard ones in outline as well as in the pattern of the pressing.
Separate the wheels with a saw with fine teeth and level the mating surfaces with sandpaper, so that all of them stand in one plane. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. It proves itself to spray a primer, paint the wheels separately from the hull and only then put them onto the axles, because the running gear is hard to reach once everything is glued. Apply dust and dried mud right at the very end.
This is an accessory to a model under way; the vehicle itself you will not find in the package.
