Contemporary American tank crew N°2, 1:35 is a single Black Dog resin figure meant to fill an open hatch.
Responsibility details are not available.
An individually boxed resin figure from Black Dog. The number two in the designation sets it apart from the other numbers of the same crew group, so the hatches of one vehicle can be filled with figures facing different ways. The box holds a single figure.
An empty tank looks like an exhibit, a manned one like a machine on the move. A figure leaning out of a hatch also gives the model a sense of scale that the hull alone cannot convey; only from the shoulders in the opening does the viewer grasp how large the vehicle is. With contemporary crews the typical features are a combined helmet with a headset and one-piece overalls of flame-resistant fabric, a silhouette that cannot be confused with an earlier period.
First try whether the figure fits the particular hatch; the diameters differ between vehicle makers and sometimes the sides of the torso have to be sanded down or the figure set deeper. Do not forget to paint the inside of the hatch before you glue the figure in permanently; once it is in, a brush will no longer reach in there. Work the painting from the top down: helmet, face, headset, and only then the clothing. The cables of the headset are easy to add with thin wire.
The figure is supplied as an unpainted resin casting without a vehicle and without a base.
