U.S.M.C. Bro Shoulder, Tet 1968 in 1:35 scale is an unpainted multi-figure set in casting resin from the manufacturer Bravo 6. It is a figure accessory for a diorama scene in the scale of military equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds castings in casting resin from which you will build a figure composition in 1:35 scale. The name of the set denotes only the subject and the mutual placement of the figures, whose positions are designed so that they follow on from each other. It is neither a model of a vehicle nor of an aircraft but a figure accessory for a diorama or a display case on its own.
The set belongs to the range of Marines from 1968, which Bravo 6 has worked up in a uniform sculptural hand and in one scale, so the individual sets can be put together into a shared scene. Against a figure on its own, a multi-figure composition has the advantage of carrying action by itself and needing no elaborate scenery. The castings are supplied divided into several parts, usually torso, head, limbs and carried equipment. Resin holds finer detail than injection-molded plastic, so the folds of the cloth, the straps and the small kit all stand out.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent because of the remains of the release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a sharp cutter, level the surfaces with abrasive paper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Assemble the figures dry first, verify their mutual position and only then glue them down firmly, so that the composition looks good from every side. Paint over a primer, build the skin up in thin coats and the uniform in the olive green shades of tropical field equipment. A dark wash will pick the folds out and a fine dry brush will pull the edges of the kit out.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
