A German machine gunner with the MG42, 1:35 from PANZER ART is a figure of the crew of a general-purpose machine gun for diorama scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure of a machine gunner working the MG42, which the manufacturer PANZER ART has placed in its range. The figure is modeled in a pose matching the delivery of fire and serves as an accessory to a diorama or to a model of a vehicle, not as a kit of equipment on its own. It suits a static stance as well as a scene with a unit on the move.
The MG42 was a general-purpose machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber introduced in 1942. It was marked out by a high rate of fire, an ammunition belt and a quick barrel change, thanks to which it formed the core of the firepower of an infantry squad. It was used on a bipod on the move as well as on a mount in defense, and it is precisely the manner of employment that settles what scene you build around the figure. Fire was delivered in short bursts, so that the barrel would not overheat and the position would not be given away at once.
Paint the weapon separately from the figure while there is access to it from all sides; dark steel comes across more believably with a hint of highlight on the edges than with gloss over its whole area. For the uniform choose muted shades and add dust where the soldier touches the ground. Bring the ammunition belt out with a fine metallic touch. The wooden and textile parts of the gear, on the other hand, leave matte, and the contrast with the steel will then come into its own.
