A resin wheel set in 1:35 scale for a model of the American Willys MB off-road car. The castings carry the tread of Goodyear tires and have a sharply raised rendering of the tread blocks, the sidewall of the tire and the rim with its holes. It is an accessory for a finished kit and not a kit in itself, and on a jeep it pays off especially, because on so small a car the wheels are clearly seen from every side.
The Willys MB is the best-known light off-road car of the Second World War. A simple frame, all-wheel drive and low weight made it a universal machine for liaison, reconnaissance, casualty evacuation and towing light weapons. It was built in hundreds of thousands, served on every front and after the war became the basis of a whole family of civilian vehicles. Its tires had a coarse pattern with pronounced blocks for driving in mud.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the cut with a file and protect your airways while sanding. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before fitting, check the diameter of the stub on the axle. The bottom of the tire can be sanded slightly into a flat, so that the car looks loaded. The rubber looks more convincing in a dark gray shade than in pure black.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
