A photo-etched set for the ammunition stowage on a model of the German Geschützwagen IVb self-propelled gun with the 10.5 cm le.F.H. 18/1 howitzer in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Geschützwagen IVb for the 10.5 cm le.F.H. 18/1 (Sf) was a German self-propelled gun that carried a light field howitzer of 105 mm caliber on a tracked chassis derived from the Pz.Kpfw.IV. The abbreviation Sf refers to a self-propelled mount, that is to the fact that the howitzer was not towed but carried. The crew worked in an open fighting compartment, where the stowage of the rounds was clearly visible.
Photo-etched parts for the ammunition stowage, that is the boxes, dividers and round holders in the fighting compartment. It is here that photo-etched parts pay off most: a plastic part cannot be as thin and on an open vehicle every wall is visible. The exact contents of the fret and the assembly procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs; separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface or with photo-etch scissors. Bend over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, and long parts along the whole length at once. Fold the boxes dry first and try them in the model, and only then glue, because once the glue has set they cannot be moved. Glue with cyanoacrylate applied on the tip of a wire. Before painting, degrease the parts and lay on a primer.
For modelers who build open vehicles with a visible interior and want a faithful fighting compartment. Check the target kit against the manufacturer's part number for the set and against the instructions before buying. The model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
