A photo-etched set in 1:35 scale for detailing a model of the German heavy tank destroyer Sd.Kfz.186 Panzerjäger. Thin photo-etched sheet replaces the plastic parts where they would come out too thick.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sd.Kfz.186 was a German heavy tank destroyer of the Second World War. It was built on a chassis derived from the Tiger Ausf. B heavy tank and carried the designation Panzerjäger Tiger; among modelers the name Jagdtiger has become established for it. The low casemate superstructure with a gun of large caliber and the thick frontal armor made it one of the heaviest fighting vehicles that reached production during the war. That is precisely why it is among the popular subjects in 1:35 scale.
These are photo-etched parts intended for detailing a model of this vehicle. Photo-etched sheet is substantially thinner than plastic, so the edges, the stiffeners and the fine pressed details look closer to reality once they are glued on. The exact composition of the set, and the areas of the vehicle it covers, are stated in the manufacturer's instructions and illustrations.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, and sand down the remains of the tab. Lead the bends over the edge of a ruler or in a bending tool, always along the whole length at once, so that the bend is not wavy. For gluing, cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount on the tip of a toothpick works well. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and use a primer suitable for photo-etched parts, otherwise the top shade holds badly.
The set assumes work with tweezers and a steady hand, so it suits more experienced builders. The model, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
