DEF Model WWII US Tank Hedgerow Cutter Set (1:35)

A resin accessory set from the Korean maker DEF Model reproducing the improvised hedgerow cutters (the Culin device) that American crews fitted to the bows of their tanks during the fighting in the Normandy bocage in 1944. This is not a model of a tank, but a set of accessory parts with which you can enrich your kit. The set contains several types of cutter suitable for various American tanks.

What it is for

• It adds a period-faithful hedgerow cutter to the front end of an American tank.
• It offers several variants of the blades for different types of vehicle (for example the Sherman, a tank destroyer or a light tank).
• It shows beautifully in a diorama from the fighting in Normandy.

Fitting tips

Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer before painting; welded improvised structures reward a rougher surface and traces of weathering and rust.
