Zimmerit Tiger I Mid. Production 1:35 is a photo-etched metal set from Eduard, which faithfully imitates the structure of the Zimmerit coating on a model of the Tiger I tank in the mid form.

This is not a model of the tank but a photo-etched metal detail accessory from the Czech maker Eduard. Thin photo-etched sheets with an engraved structure imitate Zimmerit, the anti-magnetic paste that German armored vehicles were given as protection against magnetic mines sticking to them. The set is intended for models of the Tiger I heavy tank in the mid production form (Mid. Production) in 1:35 scale.
Zimmerit was applied to Tigers in a regular pattern on the armor surfaces. The photo-etched parts of this set copy the shapes of the hull, the turret and the side skirts, so that once they are stuck on, a continuous relief matching the texture of Zimmerit comes about without your having to create it laboriously with putty.
Clean and degrease the surfaces of the model, stick the photo-etched parts on with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and press them so that they sit exactly. The transitions can be finished off with a small amount of putty. The structure comes out beautifully once a primer has been sprayed on and during painting and weathering.
This is a detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
