An injection-molded plastic kit of the American nuclear aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in 1:350 from the manufacturer Tamiya. It is an exceptionally sizeable model roughly 100 cm long, which captures the vast flight deck as well as the characteristic angular superstructure (the island) with its radars. The package contains a finely worked superstructure, deck equipment, the stand supplied and an extensive set of carrier aircraft. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was the first nuclear aircraft carrier in the world. She entered service at the beginning of the sixties and at the time she was built was the largest ship in the world. She was nicknamed Big E. She was powered by nuclear reactors, thanks to which she had a practically unlimited range, and she carried a powerful air wing. The model captures the ship in her form of the nineteen eighties. An unmistakable feature of the real ship is the tall angular superstructure with radars, different from later aircraft carriers.
Spray the vast flight deck with an airbrush over a primer, so that the coat is even; the markings and the zones of the deck can be refined with masking. Join the plastic parts with a thin cement for plastic and clean the fine elements of the superstructure of flash, so that they stay sharp. Paint the aircraft enclosed separately and place them on the deck only at the end, so that the scene stands out. The details of the superstructure and the deck are brought out by a dark wash running into the recesses and by fine dry brushing of the edges. Railings and other elements can be added with photo-etched sets available separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
