An extensive accessory for ship modelers in 1:350 scale from Flyhawk. The set replaces the plastic parts of a model of the German battleship Scharnhorst with finer components, above all railings, ladders, bridges, radars and other thin structures. It is cut for one particular Scharnhorst kit in this scale, so it may not line up on another model. The ship kit is not included in the package.
Together with her sister Gneisenau, the Scharnhorst was the fastest large ship of the Kriegsmarine and in 1940 and 1941 carried out successful raids against Allied convoys in the Atlantic. In December 1943 she was run down by a British force at the Battle of the North Cape and sunk while trying to attack a convoy bound for the Soviet Union. Only a few dozen of the crew survived.
The set is intended for experienced modelers, and expect fitting it to take tens of hours. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
