Injection-molded plastic kit of the British escort corvette HMS Anchusa (K186) of the Flower class in 1:350 scale from Mirage Hobby. The model is built as a full-hull version with a display base and captures the typical small but gallant escort ship of the Battle of the Atlantic. For the exact contents, follow the enclosed instructions.
The Flower-class corvettes were small, cheap and quickly built escort ships that formed the backbone of the protection of Allied convoys in the Second World War. They shielded merchant ships from German submarines, carried depth charges and anti-submarine weapons, and became known for their endurance in the harsh conditions of the North Atlantic. HMS Anchusa was one of the many units of this numerous class.
Set the hull squarely on the supplied base and clean up the superstructures and the fine parts before gluing. Glue with thin cement for plastic; railings and fine details can be added from photo-etched sets sold separately. A convincing look calls for the period British camouflage schemes (Western Approaches), washes in the joints, deck highlights picked out with a dry brush and weathering with salt effects at the waterline.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
