A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for detailing the model of the British light cruiser HMS Colombo in 1:350 scale. It is not a kit of the ship but a set of fine metal parts: railings, ladders, platforms and other elements that replace the coarser plastic components and take the fidelity of the model to a higher level.
HMS Colombo was a British C-class light cruiser, launched at the very end of the First World War. She went through modernizations and during the Second World War she served among other things as an anti-aircraft cruiser. She was withdrawn and scrapped in 1948. Fine deck details are a typical challenge on a model in 1:350 scale.
Photo-etched parts are bent carefully and glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) once the base coat is on. We recommend fitting the fine elements such as the railings at the end of the build so that they are not damaged. It is a good idea to paint them before gluing, because they are harder to mask once attached.
An add-on set; it is not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
