JMSDF DDG-173 Kongo 1:350 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese guided missile destroyer from Trumpeter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the Japanese guided missile destroyer Kongo in 1:350 scale. The model from Trumpeter has a well-worked hull that can be built with a full hull on a stand as well as as a waterline version, and photo-etched parts complete it.
Kongo is the lead ship of a class of guided missile destroyers of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. It is based on an American conception and is fitted with a fire control system with a multifunction phased-array radar and with vertically launched anti-aircraft missiles. The armament further includes anti-ship missiles, a gun, close-in weapon systems and torpedoes. Ships of this class carry out the air defense of a task group.
Decide in advance on the full hull or the waterline version. Glue the plastic with thin cement and sand the hull seams down. Glue the fine antennas, radars and photo-etched railings with cyanoacrylate. Apply the gray shades with an airbrush over a primer and accent the superstructure and the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
