An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light anti-aircraft cruiser USS Atlanta (CL-51) in 1:350 scale from the Aotori Bunka brand. The model faithfully captures the appearance of the lead ship of its class with its dense anti-aircraft armament. Depending on the form, photo-etched parts and metal accessories may be included. Glue and paints are not included.
USS Atlanta was the lead ship of a class of light cruisers designed with exceptionally strong anti-aircraft armament for escorting carrier formations. It entered service in 1941 and took part in a number of battles in the Pacific before it was lost during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal in November 1942.
Bond the fine photo-etched parts, such as the railings and the radars, with super glue. Finish and paint the decks and the superstructures step by step. Apply a primer before painting and lay the camouflage schemes down with an airbrush. Any metal barrels and a metal mast raise the realism and deserve careful cleaning up. For a faithful look, grade the shades of the deck and the superstructures and bring the details out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
