1:350 USS Wisconsin BB-64 - an Artwox Model wooden deck is a self-adhesive veneer surface with pre-printed deck plank laying.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but an accessory. Artwox Model supplies a thin wooden veneer with printed plank laying and a self-adhesive backing, which you glue onto the plastic deck of a battleship model. The set is cut for one particular kit, Very Fire VF350912, so check before buying that it matches the model you are building.
Veneer is an organic material and behaves accordingly. Do not leave the sheet in the cold or in direct sun for long, and before working leave it for at least an hour in the room where you will be gluing. In a cold space the self-adhesive layer is stiff and activates less well, while in a too damp place the material moves slightly and may ripple at the edges once dry. Room temperature and ordinary humidity are the best surroundings. Store the unused part of the sheet flat between two pieces of cardboard, not rolled up in the packaging.
The most demanding spot is the narrowing toward the bow, where the edge of the veneer follows a marked curve. Here it helps to lay the material centimeter by centimeter and press it from the axis toward the side, so that the tension is spread out. If the veneer resists the curve, soften it slightly over steam or with a damp cloth and let it rest for a few seconds. Never pull it by force; torn fibers cannot be put right. Trim the remaining overhang with a sharp knife run vertically along the edge of the hull, ideally in several shallow strokes rather than one deep one.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
