Decals 1:24 MG Metro 6R4 Clarion Europe 1990

An accessory from the Decalcas brand for modelers who want to build the MG Metro 6R4 in its form from 1990 with the markings of the Clarion Europe team and the sponsor Camel. The decals are applied to a finished body and a kit is not part of the package.

The real subject

The British manufacturer built the MG Metro 6R4 as a competition special on the basis of a small city hatchback. Against the force-fed competition it bet on a naturally aspirated V6 mounted in the middle of the car and on drive to all the wheels, which gave it an immediate response to the throttle and easier handling on gravel. After the end of the most powerful competition category in the world championship the 6R4 moved into rallycross and national events, where it started in the colors of various partners at the turn of the decade still. The year given in the name refers precisely to this second career of the car.

Application procedure

• Start with the large areas on the flanks and add the small lettering at the end.
• Score a decal above engraved gaps, otherwise it will bridge them and come away.
• Compare the symmetry of both flanks as you go by looking from the front.
• Apply the sealing varnish in thin layers, so that the colors do not bleed.

Who the set is for

For fans of competition specials of the 1980s and for modelers who prefer less usual markings to those from the best known seasons. Builders who follow the fates of competition specials after their departure from the world championship will appreciate it as well.
