What Dzus fasteners are

A quick-release fastener with a quarter-turn lock holds the hoods, lids and removable panels on racing cars. How to work with them

• Mark the spacing out in advance from the engraved joints on the part, not by eye.
• Work with sharp tweezers and lay the individual pieces down one at a time.
• Apply the decal softener repeatedly so that the motif follows the pressing of the panel.
• Choose a matte or semi-gloss clear coat, so that the metallic impression does not disappear.
