The Type AG Red shade stands out from the line in that its subject is neither a racing nor a sports car but a utility vehicle from the beginning of the twentieth century. The Renault Type AG is one of the best-known veteran cars of all.
The Type AG was built from 1905 and powered by a small twin of around twelve hundred cubic centimeters. Its mark of recognition was a sloping hood with the radiator placed behind the engine, that is the typical hand of the brand of that time. The vehicles served as Paris taxis and entered history at the beginning of the First World War, when in September 1914 the army requisitioned hundreds of them and used them to move soldiers to the battlefield on the Marne. Hence the nickname taxi of the Marne. The body was red with dark fenders and an open section for the driver, so the red area makes up the core of the look of a model.
It is a color for builders of veteran cars and historic scenes who need a red matching a vehicle of the beginning of the last century. It will also be appreciated by modelers of military history, because this taxi appears in scenes from the first weeks of the war as often as the guns and wagons of the period.
