A pink shade from a line that names its colors after particular machines. Among the paints of racing and converted motorcycles pink is a genuine rarity, and that is exactly why it becomes a mark of recognition wherever a team chooses it.

What makes pink different on a model

A deep pink stands in color between red and violet and behaves unlike either. On a large surface it looks flat and soft, so the edges of a shape do not come out on it as sharply as on dark paints, and a model can then easily seem simpler than it really is. In a photograph it moreover shifts into a cooler or a warmer tone depending on the light, so it makes sense to compare the result with the real subject in daylight rather than under a yellow bulb. That can be worked with: shading in the recesses and a cleanly drawn edge between the pink and the neighboring color give a part its depth back.

Who the pink is for

It will also be used in building figures and scenes, where a single bold color stirs up an otherwise gray setting. On circuit machines the pink tends to be tied to one season or to the name of a team partner, so on a model it is almost always combined with white and dark graphics and does not cover a whole machine on its own.
