499P LMH Red

This red from the Number Five line refers to the Ferrari 499P, a prototype of the Le Mans Hypercar class. It is not a general Italian racing red: on the 499P it is the glossy version of the Rosso Scuderia shade, that is a darker and more saturated tone than the one the brand's older road cars were painted in. Yellow stripes complement it, because red and yellow are the colors of Modena. On the body of the hypercar it is a large continuous surface, interrupted only by the glazing and the dark items of the front section.

What the 499P is

The designation has a logic of its own. The number 499 comes from the displacement falling to one cylinder, and the letter P means prototype, the way Ferrari used it on its sports cars before. The car entered the top class of the world endurance championship in 2023 and won the twenty-four hours at Le Mans in that very first year with the crew of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi. A year later it added another outright victory, and in 2025 it won for the third time in a row, this time with Robert Kubica, Philip Hanson and Yifei Ye.
