A shade named after the titanium exhaust systems fitted to racing motorcycles and sports cars. Titanium has a different character from both chrome and stainless steel: it is darker, calmer and shifted toward gray with a warm undertone, so beside polished parts it never reads as a mirror.
Titanium is used in exhausts for its low weight and its resistance to heat. What is characteristic is that its surface takes on color where the thermal load is greatest: at the cylinder head and in the bends of the headers it shifts into straw, purple and blue, while further from the engine it stays a calm metallic tone. It is that basic calm tone that the shade captures; the color transitions on a model come only as a second layer of effect over it. Without that base the heat tints look like stains with nothing to stand on.
It is aimed at builders of motorcycle and car models who want the exhaust set apart from the rest of the metal parts. On a motorcycle model the exhaust is one of the most visible parts and at the same time the place where the difference shows between work taken seriously and one silver paint used for everything.
