This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:700 scale contains two complete models of German Dresden-class light cruisers in one package — SMS Emden and SMS Dresden — from the period of the First World War. According to the manufacturer, a photo-etched fret for fine details is included as well. The manufacturer is Flyhawk.
SMS Emden and SMS Dresden were German light cruisers of the Dresden class. In 1914 Emden made her name as an exceptionally successful lone commerce raider in the Indian Ocean, where she did considerable damage to Allied shipping before she was put out of action. Dresden operated in Atlantic and South American waters.
With ships in 1:700 scale take care over the careful fit of the hull and the fine superstructures; fix the photo-etched parts (railings, fittings) with super glue. Apply a base before the finish and spray the paints with an airbrush. The model will stand out on a base or set into a sea diorama base; sealing the finished model with a protective varnish is the way to go.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
