Responsibility details are not available.
An Omask masking set meant for a model of the British carrier aircraft Fairey Firefly in 1:48 scale. The ready-made stencils take the place of laborious hand-cutting of masks and help you reach clean, sharp transitions when spraying - on a two-seat machine with large glazed areas and a busy surface this is help you appreciate quickly during the build. The set is tailored to the Trumpeter Firefly kit in this scale, so there is no lengthy trying and trimming.
At Fairey, the Firefly built on the experience with the Fulmar, but it was given a markedly more powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon engine and heavier armament. The two-seat carrier aircraft served from 1943 in the fighter, reconnaissance and strike roles; it made its name escorting raids on the battleship Tirpitz and striking in the Pacific, and after the war it also saw action in Korea. For a modeler it is attractive for its combination of an elegant fuselage, the prominent observer's cockpit behind the pilot and a varied palette of Fleet Air Arm markings from European waters to the Far East.
Work on a degreased surface and settle the stencils with a toothpick or tweezers, always starting from one edge. Apply the paint in light coats; let the surface cure properly before you lift the masks off, so that the resulting edges are perfect.
