A Luftwaffe workshop ladder for aircraft models in 1:48 scale. A small piece of equipment without which a hangar scene looks empty.
Responsibility details are not available.
A workshop ladder belonged to the equipment of every aircraft workshop. A mechanic climbed it to reach the engine cowling, the armament or the edge of the cockpit, and he also left his tools on its steps. It was no rare piece of equipment, and that is exactly why it is so necessary in a modeling scene: it is only the ordinary equipment around an aircraft that gives away that someone was working on the machine.
A workshop ladder in 1:48 scale. It comes into its own beside a model with an open engine or an open cockpit, where it naturally explains how a person reached the exposed spot. It works outside dioramas too: set it beside a model on a base and the display case gains depth, while the viewer immediately compares the size of the aircraft with an object whose dimensions they know from everyday life.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest carefully so that the edges of the steps stay straight. Wash and degrease the part before painting, and choose the glue according to the material of the part. Try the placement dry before you reach for the glue: the ladder should stand slightly at an angle, leaning against the machine or a wall, and all its feet have to touch the base. Suggest wear with scuffs on the edges of the steps and a dark wash into the corners.
For builders of dioramas and display case scenes in 1:48 scale who want to show the work that went with an aircraft as well as the aircraft itself. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
