The camouflage mask for the Ka-52 in 1:72 scale is a set of templates for spraying the mottled finish of the attack helicopter. The cut matches the Zvezda kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking templates for spraying the camouflage scheme onto a model of the two-seat attack helicopter Ka-52 in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit, but an accessory to the build. The templates lay out the shape of the color fields, so there is no drawing from the instructions and no sticking tape down piece by piece. The cut is made for the kit from the Zvezda brand.
The Ka-52 is an attack helicopter with two contra-rotating main rotors one above the other, so it needs no tail rotor. The arrangement gives the machine better agility and less sensitivity to crosswind. The crew sits side by side, not in tandem as is usual on attack helicopters. The machine carries a fixed cannon and underwing stores on short wings.
First spray the lighter shade over the whole area, and only then lay the masks on and spray the darker fields. Press the template down around its whole perimeter, and on the rounded parts of the fuselage work piece by piece. Spray thin coats from a shorter distance, so that the paint does not run underneath. Take the mask off shortly after it has dried. Paint the rotor blades separately and fit them only at the end, otherwise they are very hard to mask.
The masks are supplied on their own; the paints and the model are not included in the package.
