An accessory for figure modelers and diorama builders in 1:35 scale. It is not a figure or a vehicle kit but a separate set of footwear with which you can replace the simplified legs of a production figure, or which you can add loose to equipment left lying at a base. The word Panama in the name refers to the type of sole on the American tropical boot.
Tropical footwear was created for service in damp, hot conditions, where an ordinary leather boot quickly gave way. It combines a leather toe with a tall fabric upper and drainage vents above the sole, so the water runs out and the material dries quickly. The Panama pattern sole has deep angled blocks between which mud does not hold and works itself loose as you walk. Footwear of this type accompanied American units in Southeast Asia and in various forms stayed in the equipment inventory for decades.
First compare the parts with the legs of the figure and level off the excess from the production process so that the boot sits flat. The result gains a lot if you distinguish the sole and the upper not only in shade but also in the degree of sheen: leave the fabric matte and the leather noticeably richer. Apply dust and mud to the lower part sparingly so that the structure of the tread stays visible.
