1:72 Irish Air Corps Insignia 1939-1954 is a decal sheet with the state markings of the Irish Air Corps from the stated period.
Responsibility details are not available.
The decal sheet of the Mark I brand is devoted to the national insignia of the Irish Air Corps from the period between 1939 and 1954. It is applied with water like ordinary decals and is not tied to a particular type of aircraft, so it will serve on several builds.
During the Second World War Ireland stayed neutral and its air corps performed mainly patrol and training service over home territory and the coast. It was precisely because of the neutrality that the machines were given conspicuous state colors in a form meant to be recognizable at a great distance. The corps flew largely on British hardware completed by a few machines from other sources. After the war the equipment was gradually modernized and in the middle of the fifties the shape of the markings changed, so the stated time range bounds one coherent stage.
Unify the base with gloss clear so that the print does not settle on a rough surface. Place the markings according to period photographs or according to the instructions for the kit and check as you go whether they are at the same height on both sides of the fuselage. Once dry, flatten the surface. On the smooth metal surfaces of the postwar machines the print holds by itself; with the fabric surfaces of older types, have a softener ready.
