The supplementary instrument panel 1:48 Polikarpov I-16 Type 10 from the LooK range by the Czech maker Eduard sharpens up the cockpit of the Soviet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item is a cockpit accessory from the LooK range, not a kit of an aircraft. It offers an elaborate instrument panel for the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 Type 10 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is made by the Czech firm Eduard, which builds this range on very fine drawing of the dials.
In the middle of the 1930s the Polikarpov I-16 was an exceptionally advanced machine: a cantilever low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear, a short stubby fuselage and a radial engine. Fast and agile but demanding to fly, it had its baptism of fire in Spain and in the Sino-Japanese War, and at the start of the fighting on the Eastern Front it still made up a substantial part of the Soviet fighter force. Type 10 is among the most widespread versions and is associated with strengthened machine gun armament and an open cockpit, thanks to which the cockpit is clearly visible on a model.
The accessory is intended for modelers who want to take the cockpit beyond the parts out of the box. The procedure and the preparation recommended are described in the manufacturer's instructions; before you start, compare the shape of the panel with the part in your kit. Handle the panel with tweezers, do not touch the front face with your fingers and protect it from dust until the cockpit is closed.
