A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in 1:43 scale for a model of the city bus type 5256. It is not a kit, but a masking accessory. On a bus the masking is the most laborious part of the whole model: the glazing makes up most of the sides, there are many windows and they all have thin framing that is genuinely hard to cut out of tape.
The type 5256 is a high-capacity city bus of Eastern European design, used in ordinary route service. It has a long angular body with two to three doors, extensive side glazing and a low-set windshield. Models of city buses in 1:43 scale are popular with collectors of transport vehicles, because they can be put together into collections by city and by operator.
Spray the bus over a white base, because city liveries tend to be saturated and over a dark base they would lose their brightness. Do not glue the clear parts with cyanoacrylate, because the fumes will fog them; use glue meant for glazing. Press the mask down all around with a toothpick, and on long straight frames work in sections, so that the film does not ripple. Spray thin coats and peel the mask off slowly at a sharp angle. Add the color of the window seals only after unmasking, with a fine brush.
