Collections of cars in 1:43 tend to be numerous and the models in them usually stand in a row one behind another on a glass shelf. A base with a car park solves that elegantly: it gives the cars a shared setting in which standing side by side is not a shortcoming but a design. It is not a kit; the surface is used as it is.
1:43 scale is the classic collector scale for road cars, and models in it are small enough for several cars to fit on one surface at once. A supermarket car park is at the same time the most natural backdrop of all for civilian cars, because road markings, curbs and bays belong to the everyday life of every car.
The surface can work as a scene for a single model as well as a common denominator for a smaller group of cars, which then look like a cut-out of an ordinary day. The Type 1 designation means that the manufacturer has issued more than one graphic treatment of the same motif, which differ from one another in the design. When photographing, lowering the lens to the level of the mirrors works well, so that the surface recedes into the background.
