The Tiger I was a German heavy tank committed from 1942. Officially it was listed as the Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E and in troop designation as the Sd.Kfz.181. Its shape is unmistakable: an angular hull of vertical plates, frontal armor one hundred millimeters thick, a roomy turret with a large rear and a combat weight of around fifty-seven tons. The main weapon was a gun of 8.8 cm caliber with a barrel 56 calibers long, in period designation the KwK 36. The running gear consisted of interleaved road wheels in several rows, which spread the pressure on the ground but made maintenance harder. For transport by rail the outer wheels were taken off and the wide combat tracks were replaced with narrower ones.
This is a kit in 1:35 scale, that is, a model that with the gun is roughly twenty-four centimeters long. The name places it with an experimental project and designates it as three variants in one package. How the individual variants differ from one another and how to proceed with them is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that you do not damage the surrounding surface. Assemble the running gear on a flat base and keep checking that all the wheels sit down; with an interleaved arrangement a deviation shows at once. Wash and degrease the model before painting. It is best to start with a primer, go on with the base color and only then deal with wear and dust, as otherwise the individual layers fight one another.
For modelers of German armored hardware in 1:35 scale and for builders of dioramas. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
