An accessory for a small model of the famous American battleship USS Missouri from the Hasegawa 40114 kit, 1:450 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Artwox Model set intended for the Hasegawa 40114 kit, which fits on a shelf. It is precisely in small scales that cast deck texture tends to be coarsest, because a mold cannot shrink it indefinitely. A finer grain of planks therefore does more for a model than one would expect on a hull forty-five centimeters long.
The Iowa class battleships were the fastest ever built; their machinery gave over three hundred thousand horsepower and the ships over thirty knots. Of the four, the Missouri won the greatest fame: after service off Korea a long period in reserve awaited her, in the 1980s a rebuild with missiles and modern electronics, and in 1991 a last combat appearance against targets in Iraq. Since then she has lain off Ford Island at Pearl Harbor, not far from the memorial to the sunken Arizona. Her three sisters have survived too and serve today as floating museums.
Work over a light surface and with good lighting; with parts of this size what decides is whether you can see them. Do not try to adjust the pieces with scissors; a clean cut is made only by a sharp blade run along a ruler. At the end just polish the surface gently with a finger through a soft cloth. This modification belongs to the quick upgrades that can be managed between two longer projects.
