Weeds, type II. 1:48 is scenery vegetation for a diorama from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. The second version of weed growth with a different plant shape.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains individual weed plants for dioramas and vignettes in 1:48 scale. The type II. designation distinguishes this version from the basic weeds of the same range – it is a different plant shape, so both versions can be combined in a scene. The plants are separated from the sheet, shaped and planted into the terrain. The manufacturer is the Czech company Model Scene. It is not a kit but a scenery accessory. The name gives a range of 1:45 and 1:48.
Weeds are growth with no botanical species assigned, which in a real landscape fills all the gaps nobody looks after – the edges of fields, the joints of paving, trackbeds, the feet of walls, fill and ditches. In a diorama they therefore have an important role: they disrupt a uniform grassy surface, soften the transition between terrain and objects and suggest neglected upkeep. Two different versions of weeds side by side give growth the variety of species that a single repeating shape can never create.
Combine this type with the basic version of weeds and with grass – an irregular mix of shapes is the key to credibility. Plant above all into transitions: at the feet of walls, at the edges of tracks, between stones and around stumps. Bend and turn the plants slightly so that they do not all stand upright. Glue with cyanoacrylate into a pre-drilled hole or with PVA glue on a soft scenery base, and hide the base with a scatter. Grade the density: more growth in shade and at damp places, less on a trodden surface.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints, the base and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
