Omask Me-262 A O-max set (1:48)

This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The O-max set from Omask contains precisely cut painting masks for the canopy glazing and other clear areas, together with foam (EVA) plugs for the landing gear bays. The masks let you spray the canopy frames cleanly, and the foam plugs protect the inside of the bays from paint during airbrushing.

The real subject

The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the first jet fighter in the world to enter series service. The A version served as a fighter and as a fighter-bomber in the closing stage of the Second World War and heralded the era of jet air forces.

Use

• The masks are laid straight onto the glazing and follow the shape of the canopy frames exactly.
• The framing of the canopy is sprayed without laborious masking with tape by hand.
• The foam plugs go into the landing gear bays and keep paint from getting in.
• Once the paint is dry, both the masks and the plugs come off easily.
