Cannon barrels for a model of the Hs 129 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. A replacement for the kit parts where the most is visible on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Germans built the Henschel Hs 129 as an aircraft for low attack on ground targets. An armored nose, a cramped cockpit and heavy gun armament made it a machine of unmistakable appearance, with which the viewer's eye first runs over the nose and over the barrels sticking out of the fuselage and from the underslung gondola. On a model the barrels therefore decide the final impression: if they are thick, crooked or have a blanked muzzle, that pulls down even otherwise honestly done work.
Separate cannon barrels for a model of the Hs 129 in 1:48 scale. They replace the kit parts, with which the maker of the mold has to keep to what plastic at such thinness will bear. Which version and which place the barrels belong to, check in the manufacturer's instructions and in the documents on the aircraft.
Separate the barrels with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder finely, ideally along the length, so that the barrel stays straight and round. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Fit them only at the very end of the build, after the model has been painted; until then they are easily broken off or bent. The base of the color is a dark metal applied thinly, and at the muzzle a sooty touch can be added with a dry brush. Keep the barrels on the axis of the machine, a crooked barrel is visible from every angle.
For modelers who build the Hs 129 in 1:48 scale and want the armament in keeping with the rest of the model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
