A holder for the scribing blades of the WING series in a pink form. The tool consists of a handle with a clamp for a shank of 3.175 mm diameter; the tip that actually removes the material is sold separately. That modular logic has the advantage that a body bought once will last you across all the widths you gradually add, and when a worn tip is replaced you change only that one part.
In scribing the result does not turn on the hardness of the tip but on how evenly the pressure is transferred into it. A good holder keeps the blade without play, so the track neither widens nor wavers. If a groove has so far tended to wander on you and scratch the surroundings, the cause is usually a wobbly clamping rather than poor technique.
The item is aimed at modelers who scribe panel lines regularly and want to build up a set of several bodies.
