A set of the bay with the electronic equipment in 1:48 scale for the A-10A Thunderbolt II. It makes it possible to build the model with the service panel swung open and the inside revealed.

The A-10A is a single-seat ground-attack aircraft intended for close support of ground troops. Besides the cockpit and the pylons, a number of service panels on the fuselage are also opened during maintenance, with the electronic equipment stowed behind them. On an aircraft ready for flight these panels are closed, whereas on a machine being worked on, on the apron, they tend to be swung open and you can see inside.
The set makes it possible to show the bay with the electronic equipment open. It brings its own interior of the bay with a three-dimensional relief of the instruments and the supporting frames, which takes the place of the smooth inner side of the kit's fuselage. The panel on the kit part is as a rule only suggested by a groove in the plastic, so it has to be cut out and fitted swung open. Compare the exact position of the cutout and the extent of the work with the manufacturer's instructions and with your own kit beforehand.
Trace the outline of the cutout first and only then cut, true the edges after the cut with a file and sand the excess down. Cut the excess material on the parts off a little way from the part with a sharp blade. Wash and degrease before painting. Paint and shade the inside of the bay while it is freely accessible. It pays to pick the small instruments out with a dark glaze and a dry brush, otherwise they disappear in the depth. Fit the finished bay only once the surrounding paintwork is done.
The set is for modelers who build the aircraft as a machine under maintenance on the apron or in a diorama with ground crew. On a model with the panels closed it will not come into play. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
