An add-on set of the landing gear bays for a model of the A-10A Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. It replaces the shallow plastic interiors of the landing gear spaces.

The A-10A Thunderbolt II is a single-seat ground-attack aircraft built around a massive cannon and intended to support ground troops. The main landing gear retracts forward into fairings under the wing and the wheels stick partly out of them when retracted, which makes an emergency belly landing easier. The nose landing gear is set off to the side of the fuselage centerline.
The set replaces the inner spaces of the landing gear bays of a model in 1:48 scale. It brings a structure of ribs, piping and wiring that injection-molded parts as a rule only suggest, and it thereby deepens the places you can see well into on a model standing on its landing gear.
The parts are not polystyrene and they are bonded with super glue. Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder down. The original plastic walls of the bay will most likely have to be thinned; proceed slowly and keep dry-fitting the parts. Wash and degrease the set before painting. Spray and shade the bays before the landing gear goes onto the model, because afterwards you will reach into them with a brush only with difficulty.
The set is for modelers who build a model standing on its landing gear and want it to stand an inspection from below. The work calls for a little sanding and dry-fitting, but the result shows with every look into the bay and on every photograph of the model from underneath. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
