The A-10C is the modernized form of the American attack aircraft intended for close support of ground units. The modernization touched above all the cockpit: in place of a row of dial instruments came color screens, and the controls moved onto the stick and the throttle, so that the pilot does not have to hunt for switches with his eyes while flying low over the battlefield. The pilot's space is moreover surrounded by an armor bathtub, so it has a pronounced form in the kit and is clearly visible under the large canopy on a finished model.
The elements replace the flat parts and decals from the kit with a colored rendition in relief. The instrument panel with its screens, the side panels, the seat and its belts gain a depth that hand painting achieves only with difficulty, and the dials stay legible even once the varnish has dried.
Level the surfaces under the elements, clear them of raised detail and degrease them. Separate the elements one at a time and try them dry until the shape fits. Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive; the way they are applied differs between lines and the set does not state it in its designation. Press a seated element down with a soft stick from the center outwards, so it seats even in the recesses of the instrument panel.
