A set of resin position (navigation) lights for the American LTV A-7 Corsair II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but an exactly cast detail part that will replace the position lights from the base kit with a cleaner and more accurate rendering.
The A-7 Corsair II was an American subsonic carrier attack aircraft that from the 1960s replaced the older A-4 Skyhawk and proved itself in Navy and Air Force service. It was powered by a single turbofan engine. The position (navigation) lights on the wingtips and the fuselage are small but prominent features. The resin castings have a cleaner shape and, once painted in translucent shades, look more realistic than solid plastic parts.
Resin parts need more careful preparation: wash them in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting block carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding. Undercoat the lights in silver and glaze them with clear shades, red, green or white according to the side and the position, so that they look lit from within.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
