This is an accessory set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the Japanese Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe floatplane fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit: the plastic model is obtained separately. The LööK line is built on a pre-colored instrument panel that replaces the plastic part from the kit; the variant with the plus suffix is extended with further parts compared with the basic line. Check the particular make-up on the box.
The instrument panel is the first thing a viewer notices in a cockpit and at the same time the hardest place to paint. A finished pre-colored panel removes that problem: it is fitted in place of the plastic part and the instruments have legible dials without any work with a brush. The result shows especially on models with the cockpit open.
The Nakajima A6M2-N, designated Rufe by the Allies, was a floatplane fighter derived from the carrier-based A6M Zero. Instead of conventional landing gear it received a large central float and a pair of auxiliary floats under the wing, because of which the fin was changed as well. It was deployed where no airfields with a paved runway were available. The cockpit stayed close to the production Zero, so the build revolves mainly around the floats and their struts.
The plastic instrument panel part usually has to be thinned or trued first so that the replacement seats. It is glued in spots with super glue, with a minimum of glue at the edge. Do not overpaint the finished pre-colored parts and do not put solvent-based flat varnish on them; if you need to unify the sheen, always try it first on a piece of scrap.
This is not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
