Aero L-39MS and L-59 TFace 1:48 is an Eduard set of masks for the outer and the inner face of the canopy glazing. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains machine pre-cut self-adhesive masks in a kabuki-type material for a model of the Aero L-39MS and L-59 aircraft in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means that the package holds masks for the outer and for the inner face of the glazing. The canopy frames can then be painted from the inside in an interior shade and from the outside in the upper camouflage coat, which shows clearly on large canopies with a pronounced frame structure. It is not a kit but an aid to painting one.
The parts are lifted off the sheet with tweezers and applied exactly along the outline of the frames, first from the inside, then from the outside. The material conforms even to a curved canopy. The open areas in the middle of the panes are covered with the remainder of the sheet or with liquid mask. After spraying, the masks are removed and the edge of the paint stays sharp, with no bleeding. The masks are cut to fit a particular kit, so check before buying that they match yours.
Apply the inner masks before the canopy is glued to the fuselage — afterwards you cannot reach its inner face. Press the edges down with a toothpick so that paint does not creep under them. Spray in thin coats; a thick coat leaves a step at the edge. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried. Eduard is a Czech manufacturer from Obrnice near Most and its mask sets are among the most widespread accessories for modelers.
The set contains masks only. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
