This injection-molded plastic kit from Kitty Hawk in 1:48 scale captures the modern Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter of the US Marine Corps. The package holds clear parts, a photo-etched fret and a generous set of external stores; the cabin can be built with the canopy open and parts of the engine covers hinged up.
The AH-1Z Viper, nicknamed the Zulu Cobra, is the newest member of the Cobra family of attack helicopters, operated by the US Marine Corps. It is set apart from the older versions by a four-blade rotor, new engines and modernized avionics with a gun turret under the nose. It carries anti-tank guided missiles, pods of unguided rockets and air-to-air guided missiles.
Finish the detailed cabin with its belts before closing the fuselage; the canopy can be left open and the engine covers hinged up to show the machinery inside. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). For the dark gray naval finish, a matte coat from an airbrush over a base works well; bring out the panel lines and the armament with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
