This set from the Czech maker Hauler holds small ammunition parts in 1:48 scale, tied to the light Hetzer tank destroyer. It is an accessory for a finished kit, not a model. On this vehicle in particular the ammunition makes exceptional sense: the fighting compartment is cramped, and as soon as a modeler opens a hatch or suggests the interior, the rounds are right in view.
The Hetzer, by design the Jagdpanzer 38(t), was a small tank destroyer built on a chassis derived from the Czechoslovak tank produced during the war at Ceskomoravska Kolben-Danek. It carried a 7.5 cm anti-tank gun in a fixed superstructure with heavily sloped frontal armor. The vehicle was low, light and cheap to produce, but it paid for that with a very tight interior - the crew and the stowed ammunition were crammed into it and loading was uncomfortable. After the war machines of this type were still built and used for a number of years.
Given the small space it pays to place the ammunition with some thought - a few pieces in the holders by the side of the superstructure look better than trying to fill the whole interior. Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw over a tray, wash resin castings before gluing and join them with super glue. The cartridge case is painted in a brass metallic, which has to be stirred properly before use; the projectile gets a more matte, darker tone. For a cramped space pick a lighter base color, or the detail will be lost in the gloom - which is exactly why the interiors of these vehicles were often painted light.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
