The ASO-2V countermeasure dispenser 1:48 (Metallic Details) is a resin and photo-etched accessory reproducing the magazines of infrared flares and radar chaff used on Soviet helicopters and aircraft.

This is a detail accessory, not a model. The set combines resin and finely photo-etched parts that build up into blocks of ASO-2V countermeasure dispensers. They are fitted to models of the machines that carried the system, in 1:48 scale.
The ASO-2V system automatically fires infrared flares and radar chaff that confuse the seeker heads of anti-aircraft missiles. The blocks were mounted on the Mi-24 family of attack helicopters, among others, and on a number of further Eastern designs.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. Bend the photo-etched elements over an edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend assembling first and spraying the primer and the color afterwards; the flare tubes can be brought out with a fine wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
