An injection-molded plastic kit of the Czechoslovak Avia B-534 IV series fighter biplane in 1:48 scale. Besides the plastic parts the ProfiPACK edition from Eduard contains pre-colored photo-etched parts, self-adhesive painting masks and a decal sheet with several marking options; according to the manufacturer's data it offers four schemes. The IV series was the last main production version of the type, with a closed cockpit canopy among other things.
The Avia B-534 was the best-known and most numerously produced Czechoslovak fighter of the interwar period. It was a single-engine biplane of mixed metal-and-fabric construction with fixed landing gear, which in the 1930s was among the best biplane fighters. It formed the backbone of the Czechoslovak fighter force at the time of the mobilization of 1938; later some machines served with other operators as well. The IV series was distinguished by an enclosed pilot's cockpit.
Use a liquid model cement for plastic on the joints and treat the surface with a base coat (primer) before painting. On a biplane take care over the correct alignment of the upper wing with the fuselage and over the bracing wires between the lifting surfaces, as they raise the fidelity of the model. The pre-colored etched parts make the cockpit detail easier and the masks supplied help with clean spraying of the glazing. Apply the paints with an airbrush in thin coats.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
