This is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks in quality kabuki film, not a kit. The individual parts are numbered and come with instructions that state exactly where they go. The set is cut to fit a particular plastic kit of the Avro Anson Mk.I in 1:48 scale and serves for quick and accurate masking of the glazing and the wheels. The single-sided version covers the outer side of the glazing. The cut of the masks is based on the Airfix kit.

The real subject

The Avro Anson Mk.I was a British twin-engined high-wing monoplane. At the start of the Second World War it served for coastal reconnaissance and patrol, and later mainly as a trainer and liaison machine. Characteristic is its extensively glazed greenhouse cabin with its many frames, whose masking is slow work by hand.

Use

• Peel the part off the sheet and place it with tweezers on a clean area of the glazing.
• Press the edges down with a toothpick so that paint cannot creep under the film.
• Spray the frames and, once dry, peel the masks off carefully.
• The wheel masks make it easier to separate the tire from the hub.
