A warning right at the start: this is not an aircraft kit but a package of detailing accessories. In its Big Ed range the Czech company Eduard brings several separately sold sets together in one box, so the sets needed for one kit are in one place. PART I is aimed at the crew stations: it contains a photo-etched cockpit set, seat belts in the STEEL version and a sheet of masks for the extensive glazing of the bomber.
The accessories are intended for the quarter-scale Lancaster kit in the B Mk.III Dambuster version, that is the machines of No. 617 Squadron modified to drop the spinning bomb in the famous attack on the dams in May 1943. The photo-etch replaces the simplified instrument panels, consoles and equipment boxes with fine relief, the belts give the seats scale credibility, and the masks save long hours of framing the canopies and the astrodome by hand.
Bend the photo-etched parts over a steel rule or with a photo-etch bending tool and fix them with gel cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Degrease the fret before painting and acrylic paints will then hold reliably. Press the masks down along the edges with a toothpick so that no paint creeps under them, and pull them off as soon as the spraying is done.
